Abstract
Biochar produced from woody biomass can retain the characteristics of structural elements in the wood such as vessels and tracheids. In this study, we examined theses characteristics and explored the potential of hardwood-derived monolithic biochar as electrode material in supercapacitor. Also known as electrochemical double layer capacitor (EDLC), supercapacitor is a fast-charging, long-lasting electrical energy storage device that can be used to enhance the efficiency of alternative energy systems.
