Title
Atrac® 922 collector for phosphate flotation, jointly developed by Nouryon and Yara, yields high performance and reduces environmental impact
Conference Dates

Abstract
Fatty alcohol ethoxylates are broadly used in collector formulations together with anionic surfactants mainly to enhance selectivity and efficiency. For decades, the industry regarded alkylphenol ethoxylates as cost- and performance-efficient flotation agents. However, environmental concerns have arisen around the use of alkylphenol ethoxylates which initiated a joint development between Nouryon and Yara Siilinjärvi to identify a replacement for alkylphenol ethoxylate in collector formulations used at Yara. This cooperation resulted in Nouryon’s introduction of the Atrac® 922 mineral flotation collector, an alkylphenol-free collector formulation that provides both environmental benefits as well as improved performance.
